Ryan Hughes was voted an honorary life member of the Club at the AGM prior to the awards where Rich Pearce won the Roy Nokes Clubman of the Year.

Hughes, who announced his definite retirement from the game (to huge sighs of relief from those present), is the first person to be awarded an honorary life membership, thanks to his work as Chairman and his commitment and contribution on the pitch - mainly many seasons ago, when he could still pitch the ball on the right strip.

Former England Captain David Gower, probably the second greatest left hander in the room, was present to congratulate Hughes personally on the highest honour in the land.

After the annual dinner, Richard Pearce was presented with the Roy Nokes Clubman of the year for his outstanding work with the juniors, his help at Cricket Force, performance on the field and general all round help and commitment to the Club.

The biggest cheer of the night, however, was saved for the presentation of the Aurthur Webb Duck Trophy, as the Chairman gleefully presented it with great pleasure to Jamie Harvey for his unprecedented two ducks this season.

The other winners were:

Players Player of the Year : Sam Parker
Batsman of the Year : Matt Windows
Bowler of the Year : Richard Pearce
Fielder of the Year : Dan Marsh

Tributes were paid to Will Hearsey for once again producing the best ground in the Country, and for putting up with the Russian conspiracy theory rants from Malcolm Griffiths whilst he cuts the outfield. Also, mention was made of the outstanding work Will has done in establishing a thriving Junior section, and it is hoped this can very much be continued by others now he has decided to take a step back from this role.

The captains remain the same for next year, with Martyn Nokes still Saturday captain and Richard Pearce coming in as his deputy to cover all the inevitable Elton John concerts and music festivals. Jamie Harvey stays as Wednesday captain of the Winterbourne Warriors and there's a new face on the committee with Dan Marsh volunteering for Sponsorship and Fund Raising coordinator. All other positions remain the same.

The Indoor season starts soon under the guidance of Rich Pearce, and then it will be full steam ahead with preparations for the 2020 season which will be on us all before we know it.
